Prerequisite: find an insurance company

Before offering this service, you must enter into an agreement with an insurance company. The insurer will compensate the end customers.
A new custom report has been developed and allows you to send to your insurer the details of all the people who have taken out cancellation insurance and the products on which they have taken it out.

Warning

Warning: your operators should never issue compensation on an order containing a cancellation insurance - this would be a double payment, since in principle it is the insurance company that deals with refunding the money. A warning message was placed in the window to keep operators aware of this.

Alerte pour l'opérateur

Warning: Your operators should never set-up a price level (see below) starting with an order amount of zero. Indeed, you aren't allowed to sell a cancellation insurance for a free order since the insurance will never pay anything.

Configuration in just four steps

In the SecuTix configuration, go into the organisation context, and go to the cancellation insurance, which is at the same location as Advantages and  Cross selling:

Catalog > Miscellaneous > Cancellation Insurance

Step 1: Define the insurance

Choose the name of your insurance product and summarise the key benefits of the product in its description.
A picture can be added: we recommend a visual item relating to the insurance company in order to leverage its fame to reassure your customers.

For the insurance conditions, insert a link to a page of your site or directly to a PDF. The content will open in a pop-up window, ensuring that the user does not exit the shopping process. Furthermore, by using the "placeholder" {LANGUAGE}, you can directly provide the content in the right language:

Step 2: Set the premium levels

The premium to be paid to be insured is gradually defined based on the total (insured products) of an order.
Set the total at which one can be assured and how the premium changes.

You can define the insurance amount as a fixed amount or a percentage.

Step 3: Choose the product families

Check the boxes of the product families that you want included in the cancellation insurance.

Step 4: Final adjustments

The final adjustments relate to the display of the online ticketing.

First, it is possible to decide whether the insurance is checked by default or not in your users' carts.

Second, it is possible to activate a "pop-up" mode. This is for people who did not take out the cancellation insurance: the pop-up is offered to them just before paying, making sure they have not missed the cancellation insurance option and thereby maximising the conversion rate. This interaction model is modelled on the practices of several major airlines.

Third, you can associate the Cancellation Insurance to various sales channels. See Enable cancellation insurance per sales channel.
