Offer a brand new distribution experience to your partners and commercial affiliates! Introducing the distribution cart, which allows users to first allocate tickets to guests and later on to validate it and complete the distribution.
Solution
The distribution cart provides a tool for users to distribute tickets to their guests in a very flexible manner. It can be used to group all the tickets for a given guest and distribute them in a single transaction. More importantly, the cart can be used as an seating tool where tickets are allocated to guest but without actually distributing them. The user can then choose to finalize the distribution of the tickets for a sub-set of his cart, only validating the distribution for a sub-set of guest and keeping the rest for later.
The cart is attached to the user and has no expiration dates. Relays belong to the same structure may access the cart of a given relay and use it on his/her behalf.
Getting started
Activation
- The distribution cart relies on the address book feature and thus requires it to be activated.
- Set the following config key to true: config.distributionPortal.enable
Adding tickets to the distribution cart
The main screen and the seat map screen have been revamped and now display a sticky add to cart button as soon as a quantity of tickets is entered or seats are selected on the map.
The seat map screen has been simplified in order to display all seats, i.e., distributed or not, on the same map. Toggles at the top provide a mean to easily filter them.
Allocating tickets to guests
Guests can be added to the cart directly or simply added after the selection of the tickets. The cart can accommodate many guests and each guest can be allocated many tickets.
When tickets have been already distributed, tickets selected from the map can easily be re-distributed to different guests or simply taken back by clicking on the assign to me link.
The cart is saved automatically and can be retrieve at any point in time by simply accessing the portal with the same user.
Distributing tickets to guests
Once the user is confident that tickets can be distributed to guests, he/she can open the distribution cart details and select the guests who should receive their allocated tickets.
Modification can still be made at this stage, e.g., to remove certain allocated tickets.
The user can also choose to only distribute the tickets to a sub-set of guests and keep the remaining tickets in the cart to be processed at a later stage.
