You are launching sales at a specific date and time? The new PeakProtect Fair Pre-Queue allows to simplify your communication and improve the user experience. |
Solution
Previously missing the start time of the queue would have put a user at a signification disadvantage. With the Fair Pre-Queue, users can now be invited to join at any time before the start of the sales, e.g., during a one hour period. The system will then organize the queue by randomly positioning all the users having entered before the start of sales.
Once the queue is formed, any user arriving after the sales start will be positioning in a First Come, First Served (FCFS) manner.
Getting Started
To communicate on upcoming on-sales to the fans, you must define the following date/times:
- Waiting room opening time: This is the time Time before which the shop is completely closed and it is not worth trying to join.
- Queue opening time: This date/ time is the most important element to communicate! It defines the time after which all the users in the pre-queue are assign a random position and all users joining after that point in time would go at the back of the queue.
- Shop opening time: This date/time Time when the system will start letting through to the shop. It should be as close as possible to the "Queue opening time" to avoid adding useless waiting time but needs to be at least 5 minutes later to ensure all users have enough time to be informed of their position.
As an example, for an on-sales that would start at 2pm, the configuration could be done as follows:
Waiting room opening time | 01:00 pm |
Queue opening time | 02:00 pm |
Shop opening time | 02:05 pm |
The communication announcing the on-sales should state something like "Make sure you join the waiting room before 02:00 pm!"
