NEW V2.5 Snake tool options hover over the map for quicker configuration and fully frozen/invalid seats can be bypassed. With unusual configuration due to COVID-19, comes unusual issues. Indeed, when some rows are fully frozen for example for social distancing, it may impact the "snake" optimal selection. The next best seats when moving to the next row may end up being on the other side of the block, instead of just behind, which is obviously not the best to enjoy a match or an event.

Solution

In the seat map logical and sales configuration (performance/match), when using the snake tool for optimal selection configuration, you can choose to bypass fully frozen/invalid rows. The new option is available in the new snake option pop-up, which will also make the configuration of your optimal selection much faster than using the keyboard shortcuts.

Getting started

The snake tool can be applied at both the logical configuration level or at the sales configuration level, i.e., for a match or performance. When switching to the optimal selection mode and selecting the snake tool, the snake tool option pop-up opens to allow you to define in which corner of the block the snake should start:

  • Best row: top/bottom
  • Best seat (in the row): left/right. Note that this option may produce different result depending whether the seats are looking up, down, left of right.
  • Bypass frozen/invalid rows: yes/no. When active, this option will apply the snake on the block by "ignoring" the fully frozen/invalid rows and leaving them at the end of the snake. For consistency reason, those rows will still get a optimal selection ranking assigned. Note that the optimal selection will have to be recomputed every time rows are modified to be fully frozen or not. This last point does not impact existing sales.
