Ticket protection - Resell invalidated tickets

Ticket protection - Resell invalidated tickets

RELEASED IN V3.4 You have ticket protection activated in your Ticketshop but you would like to be able to resell the tickets once they have been reimbursed? With this feature, the system automatically releases that seat and puts it back on sale.

The best part: The organizer keeps the revenue from the first sale — because Cover Genius reimburses the fan, not the organizer— earns a commission on the protection policy, AND earns again when the seat is resold. That's triple revenue on a single seat for sold-out events

Solution

When this feature is activated, the reimbursed (invalidated) ticket is exchanged against an open product, which frees the seat while the funds stay marked as collected in the financial reports.

Getting started

  1. Create the open product

In the institution's backoffice, in the organization module (blue one), go to Catalogue and create a new open product (example available in CUBE DEMO):

  • Name: Cover Genius refund

  • Code: CGRkeep this code, you will need it in the next step

  1. Create the schedule

In the S-Cover interface (organization module, Tools/List of interfaces → the S-Cover interface), click on the "Schedules" module and create a NEW one of type "Exchange invalidated tickets":

  • Function: Exchange invalidated tickets

  • Launch: Automatic

  • Frequency: 5min

  • Internal name: Exchange invalidated tickets

  • Sales channel code (this is Cover Genius sales channel created previously): CG

  • Point of sales code (this is Cover Genius Point of Sales created previously): CG

  • Open product code to exchange invalidated tickets: TPR (same as the open product created above)

Finally click on "Schedule" to save the configuration.
