Ticket ownership transfer improvements
RELEASED IN V2.1 Offering ticket ownership transfers to your customers? We are introducing important updates to ticket ownership management, aligning printed ticket data with legal holders and simplifying tracking for back-office operators.
Solution
Several improvements have been added to the ownership transfer capability. Since a new owner is similar to the initial buyer, legal requirement in terms of data collection need to be enforced in a similar fashion, so contact profiles must be completed before being able to accept an ownership transfer. Legal requirements might also imply having to print the name of the owner on the ticket. The current owner now overrides the initial buyer in the corresponding ticket template variable. Finally, support has been made easier by providing a clear view on the ownership transfer history, along with the ticket distribution history.
Profile completion: Recipients of an ownership transfer are now required to complete mandatory profile fields (e.g., postal address) before they can accept a transferred ticket.
Ticket template: When the “transferrable” option of the ticket owner is selected, the purchaser variables
$PurchaseContact_*in the ticket template will now output the current ticket owner, instead of the original buyer. This applies to all ticket types.
Example
Old behavior: Dalziel transfers ownership ticket A1 to Nina → The purchase variable outputs “Dalziel”.
New behavior: Dalziel transfer ownership ticket A1 to Nina → The purchase variable outputs “Nina”.
Ticket owner history: Back-office operators can now see ticket distributions, transfers in TIXNGO and ownership transfers all in the Distribution history screen.
